Biography

Joshua Hart is an aspiring photographer based in Leeds, UK. His projects are created with the intention to invite the audience to study their surroundings, whether it be the outer space, an urban environment, a riverside, a dark forest, open fields or people’s micro cosmos, such as their private homes. Hart is exploring the world with positivity, resilience and optimism and appreciates the present moment via documentarist, conceptual and architectural photographic genres.

Respect, grace and giving back to the community are some of his personal pillars. Brutalist architecture, the galaxy, contemporary jazz, house and neo soul music as well as his family’s history and togetherness have all significantly inspired Joshua so far. Some of Hart’s work was influenced by new topographists, particularly Lewis Baltz and contemporary photographers, such as Andreas Gursky and Dan Holdsworth .Other inspirations stem from the honest, raw and grim works of film directors, like Danny Boyle or Guy Ritchie but Christopher Nolan’s and Wes Anderson’s imaginary worlds also fascinate Joshua, just like Kubrick’s scientific and dark interpretations.

Through his lenses, Joshua has not only been exploring English industrial cities of Liverpool and Leeds but also embarked on journeys to Europe too where he was determined to capture the eclectic and exciting atmosphere of Budapest. These images are clean, straightforward, carrying a sense of integrity and self-awareness with a touch of quirk.
Multiculturalism, diversity, inclusion, and longevity are some of the main drivers for Joshua whose openness, creativity, technical skill-set and professionalism ensure high quality and unique photography. His work is an open conversation where spectators’ reflections and responses are encouraged.
